Western Street

During the 60s and 70s, “Western made in Babelsberg“ became synonymous to East German blockbusters. The Western Street commemorates famous DEFA productions like “The Sons of the Great Bear“ (1966), “White Wolves“ (1969) or “Chingachgook, the Great Snake“ (1967).

It features storefronts, which are perspectively aligned, a film trick to make the nostalgic Western Street appear longer on screen. This is a typical trick of set designers. Babelsberg’s movie-craftsmen built this backlot with a passion for technical perfection and details. A gold panning station* invites our guests to enjoy an authentic gold washing experience.

Experience more authentic Western feeling and visit EL DORADO Templin, the Western Theme Park north of Berlin.
